Production Scheme

Herstellung Fassadenziegel Creaton AG engl

The façade clay tile TONALITY® from Creaton is produced of the natural raw material clay with addition of water and grog. The clay is gained within close distance to the production place. The clay is milled and dried and afterwards stored in Silos. From three different clays with different coloration (red, brown, white) the respective composition of the clay tiles is mixed with addition of water and grog. The raw material is pressed through an Extruder (Extruding Press) and an endless cord which is free from air spaces obtains. The endless cord has already the typical design / shape of the clay tiles. According to the ordered tile length the endless cord is cutted. The raw tiles are getting dried for several hours. Within the next step of surface treatment the clay tiles already gets their typical surface, “glazed or engobed”. Afterwards the clay tiles are burned in the kiln up to 1.250°C for several hours. After the burning and a cooling down and a quality check, the clean clay tiles are finally cutted to the ordered size and ready for sale.
